Hi…wazzup ..My name is Chetan. I was born in 1987 in a small town called Chitradurga in Karnataka, India. I grew up in Bangalore. As many artists say, that they were interested in art and started sketching and painting from a young age and some even before they came out of their mothers womb, welll.... I am no different from others. Even I started sketching and painting with pastels from a very young age. I did my schooling in Bangalore. I completed my 11th and was almost done with 12th, but I kinda got fed up of it and left the college. Athough I attended college for the experience and options it kept open, I planned to follow a career in Visual Effects, a career that could combine my passion and skills in both art and technology. I then joined an art school called ToonSkool in Bangalore where I learned 2d and later joined another art school called Takshaa Academy for Artists, Bangalore where I finished a course in 3d and also did my specialization in Visual Effects. I am basically a fx animator but also very interested in compositing and matte painting and working my ass off to learn compositing and matte painting and also at the same time to improve on simulations. In future if the aliens doesn’t invade the earth or a huge meteor or an asteroid doesn’t fall on the earth or some evil forces doesn't take over the planet, I would love to specialize in animation and lighting and also learn some music. Actually there is a long list of things which I want to learn and do, but right now my main focus is on hard working and improving on what ever I know.
Now a bit of tech info. I generally prefer to use Maya, as that is what I'm most familiar and experienced with for 3D and effects work, but I am also fairly proficient with NextLimit Realflow and also planning to learn Houdini. I'm also pretty capable with Adobe After Effects and Apple Shake, and of course Adobe Photoshop. While my real passion lies with creating mind blowing effects for movies, I would also be interested in doing effects work for video games, especially given the cinematic qualities that are increasingly common in today's games.
